The 32nd Manila International Book Fair

September heralds the unofficial beginning of the Christmas season in the Philippines - the "ber" months being associated with the Christmas season in this part of the globe - and is one of my most favorite months of the year, aside from my birth month, November. Know why?

September is the month for the Manila International Book Fair, an event no book lover would dare pass up.

Books, books, books galore!

Last year, I was in my 7th month of pregnancy when I attended the MIBF with my husband, and despite the extra weight in my tummy that I had no choice but to lug around, I had a good haul to take home with me. We went there twice: on the first day and the third day, and both times, I couldn't resist the urge to spend on books. And had fun, too!

This year promises to be an even better MIBF than the last; for the very first time, there will be a Filipino Reader Conference, organized by several co-Filipino bloggers and book club members. I am hoping that I could be there for the entire program; it all depends on the workload that I'll be having in the office this week. Fingers are crossed however - I wouldn't miss this for the world!

For more info on the MIBF (exhibitors, co-located events), please check this site. The MIBF will run from September 14 through 18 at the SMX Convention Center, beside the Mall of Asia in Pasay City. And this is the site to click for updates on the Filipino Reader Conference.

See you all there! :)

Argh, NO. Spell E-N-V-Y. I might as well avoid reading MIBF-related topics from this day on. Haha!

Have fun with your book shopping! :)

Wish you could attend too, Lynai. Maybe next year, you'll find yourself in Manila, and we'll have the grandest time at the MIBF! :D
