Required Reading: SEPTEMBER

Before writing about the books that will comprise my Required Reading list for September, let me just say this about my August Required Reading: I was a complete and utter failure. Or, as some of you guys would put it, FAIL.

Of the four books I had listed down, I only managed to read one. One. Huhuhu. And I have no excuse. :'(

So which books was I able to read for August? Just two:

(1) The Lover's Dictionary by David Levithan ~ Borrowed from Tina and which I love, love, love. I still browse through it read my favorites. *sigh*
(2) A Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 1 by George R.R. Martin ~ I know, I know, this isn't in my required reading list, but the pull of Westeros was just too strong! LOL. Epic fantasy, which I also loved. It's been a long time since I read a book reminiscent of the LOTR trilogy, and this one totally rocked. \m/

So, Angel Time, Graceling and Robopocalypse might just have to wait another time. I am currently on a Game of Thrones high and I'm not sure if I will opt to read all five books in the series in succession, or read something else in between. Nonetheless, I will still list down a couple of titles for September, aside from A Clash of Kings which I am currently devouring:

(1) Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides ~ I wanted to join the buddy read people discussing this right now at Goodreads, but I'm apprehensive that I won't have time enough to read the book simultaneously with A Clash of Kings and compare notes with the rest of them, so maybe I'll just read this on my own.
(2) A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L'Engle ~ I've actually begun the first chapters after I finished A Game of Thrones, but I just couldn't resist! George R.R. Martin has me hooked. :D

Yep, two books. I am only nearing the halfway mark for A Clash of Kings, so I'll probably have two weeks free to read these two titles. Hopefully, after the second book in the Ice and Fire series, I would feel the urge to read a "palate cleanser".

Will report back to ya next month! Now hop on over to Tina's list, the pretty lady who hosts this reading challenge. ;)

I guess I should start reading Game of Thrones as well. :)

Same with Will -- I should start reading GoT too. Everyone's raving about it!

WILL and TINA: Yep, everyone is! Can't blame them though (even though I am just joining the bandwagon, admittedly). :)
