New Titles, Kindle Touch, and a Wish List

Over the weekend, I received these two titles that I've been eyeing for the past weeks: High Society by Paolo Chikiamco and Hannah Buena, and The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick.

The first title I won at a giveaway over at Tina's One More Page, and the latter I bought from my bookclub friend Aldrin – it's actually his own copy, sold for a song. Might I add that it's in very good condition (except for that little liquid stain on the top of the pages – toyomansi? Haha!) and I can't wait to dig into the pages. I already browsed through it and I love the illustrations!

Likewise, over the weekend, I placed an order at Amazon for a Kindle Touch, as and by way of replacement for my husband's conked-out Kindle 3 and a Christmas gift, as well. It was a very difficult toss between the Touch and the Fire, but in the end, and after much research and comparison of reviews, the Touch won out. We were hoping to have it delivered within the week because Amazon has units in stock, but since they deliver on a first come, first served basis, I guess we'll have to wait a few days longer than we prefer.

Finally, I've been thinking about putting up a book wish list for Christmas, but vetoed the idea right away because of the huge TBR pile that I still need to subdue. But then again, I thought, what the heck, I can wish, can't I? It's not like I'd actually receive every title that I list down, anyway. (And, thanks to Tina for convincing me, too!)

So, for my Christmas wish list (actually, it can also double as my birthday wish list, too, since it's my birthday month!! :D), I would like to refer you over to my Goodreads wish list shelf. Except for the 3 Lemony Snicket titles, which I am compiling, I am okay with e-book editions. :)

How'd your weekend go? :)

Congratulations again! :) I really hope you enjoy High Society. :D

Also, let me know how the Kindle touch is! I'm still thinking if I will ask that from my parents in exchange for managing the household while my mom is away. :D Hee.

And wish lists are so useful, especially during parties like ours. Last year I managed to get half of the books I wished for after the party. :D

TINA: Thanks thanks! Hehe. :)

The unit has already been delivered to the Johnny Air office and hopefully, we can pick it up next week. I'll tell you if it works great. ;)

Yes, you have me convinced. I think there's a separate thread on Goodreads for the top 10 books that we want to receive for Christmas, so I'll look that up, too! :D

My sisters wanted to get me the Kindle Fire but I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to purchase books from here! T.T

You should sign up for Fully Booked's Book Registry! :P
