This is what happens.

... when I give in to temptation and set foot inside a Book Sale branch. Any branch.

Over the weekend, I visited two: the one at MOA and the one at Robinsons Ermita. I had to practice self-restraint, and even then, I took home all these:

Jhumpa Lahiri's Unaccustomed Earth, Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, Edith Wharton's The House of Mirth and Ken Follett's World Without End, the sequel to my favorite The Pillars of the Earth, have all been on my wish list for as long as I can remember, and when I found these trade paperbacks, I just couldn't let go - they're mine! David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas, one of my and my buddy Angus' favorite books, is coming "home" to a new owner ~ I'll be doing a Tina* every chance I get, and I hope those who will receive the books that I give away will appreciate and take care of them for me. :)

*"Doing a Tina"** means buying copies of favorite books to give away to anyone who will appreciate them. :D

**Tina is, of course, our Tina from One More Page. :P

"Because good books need good homes!" Hihihi.

I also got The House of Mirth from the anniversary. Ms. Ronnie said it's good, and I think the Flippers discussed this recently too.

And you guys. You're all raving about David Mitchell and Cloud Atlas and I am THISCLOSE to giving in to read that too. :))

TINA: Peter of the Flippers, and their discussion of it, piqued my interest in The House of Mirth. When I saw the B&N copy, I grabbed it right away. :D

YES, read Cloud Atlas! If it's the only David Mitchell you read. I'll find you a copy if you want. ;)

Doing a Tina. I love that idea already. :D

And yay, you already have World Without End! :)

TINA: I've been intrigued by David Mitchell too, because of all the raves of buddies Monique and Angus. ;)
