Required Reading: FEBRUARY

These are lines from my favorite love song of all time. Forgive the mushy post that follows, but isn't that what February is for? Mushiness and all kinds of warm and fuzzy feelings? :D

If the threads over at the book club site are any indication, you'd realize how love truly is in the air this month. A lot of the members have chosen a specific theme for their respective reading lists - can you guess what it is? :)

I'm a few days late into posting my own February reading list, and I blame it all on a very busy birthday-slash-family weekend. I was well into composing the beginnings of this post early this morning in the office, but then a few things had to be rush-rush-rushed, hence this late-evening post. Better late than never, though, right?

But before I go into this month's books, a recap of my January reads:

• Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury - Burn, baby, burn. 3/5
• Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler, illustrated by Maira Kalman - You either have the feeling, or you don't. 4/5
• Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel - Currently on page 175.
• Honey, Baby, Sweetheart by Deb Caletti - Carried over to February. 

And one short story that's not part of the required reading list: 

• The Rose of Fire (The Cemetery of Forgotten Books, #0.5) by Carlos Ruiz Zafon - How it all started. 3/5

And now, on to February's required reading list!

For the very first time since joining this meme/challenge, I have adopted a theme in picking the titles that I will be reading: Love. Romance. Pag-ibig.

• Dead Stars by Paz Marquez Benitez - The book club's F2F read for the month. Tina is moderating. :D
• Honey, Baby, Sweetheart by Deb Caletti - January carry-over.
• Every Day by David Levithan - I loved his Lover's Dictionary, so I'm excited to read this one, too!
• A Lover's Discourse by Roland Barthes - Bought my copy at the MIBF last year. Excited for this as well.
• This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen - My third Dessen, I think, which I'm buddy-reading with a few girls (and a guy!) from the book club. [Currently at page 44.]

I still haven't reached the halfway mark in Wolf Hall, but I'm not worried at all. I will finish reading all the books I started, but I will not impose pressure on myself to do it now-now-now. Takes away the pleasure in reading, yes?
